Heavy Highway Contracting
Implementing todays latest technologies such as GPS outfitted equipment and recently millimeter grade control electronics for dozers, graders, mills and pavers, James J. Anderson Construction Co., Inc. continues to excel in the Heavy and Highway Construction field.
With a large fleet of asphalt pavers and rollers Anderson is fully equipped to pave parking areas, roadways and airports utilizing the latest technology to handle todays Superpave, FAA and SMA mixtures. To meet current stormwater management requirements, we are experienced in paving porous asphalt mostly utilized at commercial facilities and parking lots. As in 1981, Anderson today excels in the milling industry. The current milling equipment fleet consists of 9 milling machines including CMI 450, CMI800, CMI 750 and Wirtgen 2200 milling machines. Recent implementation of Topcon mm grade control has permitted our milling machines to cut to millimeter tolerances without any string line or extensive layout to provide for an excellent platform to perform overlay operations. Our modern fleet of pavers also have mm grade control to assure pavement construction to the designed elevation and to meet rideability specifications.
Since 2009, James J. Anderson Construction Co., Inc. has been performing structure construction and rehabilitation for PennDOT, SEPTA, Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission and The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. This added dimension now enables Anderson to self perform all aspects of Heavy and Highway Construction.
Anderson has extensive experience in concrete construction. From curb and sidewalk construction to paving interstates and airport aprons and taxiways, our concrete division has the experience to deliver a quality product. Anderson personnel have extensive experience in slipform paving as well as various types of formed paving. Our recent implementation of Topcon mm grade control has eliminated the need for stringline and provides excellent vertical grade control to meet today's demanding specifications. Anderson is an active participant in the American Concrete Paving Association.
Anderson can handle all sitework development. Utility construction, grading, curbs and paving are performed from small lots and lot repair to large distribution facilities. Several of our pieces of equipment are outfitted with GPS grade control to facilitate grading and paving activities. Recent sitework projects have included the construction of underground detention basins, bioretention basins and porous paving.
